Francesco Voltolina

Born in Ravenna in 1960, Francesco Voltolina completed his formal education at the Fine Arts Academy of Brera in 1982 and began his professional career at Unimark International, as an assistant to Bob Noorda.
After a brief period working in New York with the Mike Quon Design Office and the Sperone Westwater gallery, where he was an assistant to Mario Merz, in 1988 he began teaching at the Brera academy, assisting Luciano Fabro, and pursuing his own artistic research that would lead him to exhibit his own works in various cities during the 90’s.

Francesco Voltolina has been a partner of SGA Corporate & Packaging Design since 1996, where he develops company and product image projects, principally for the wine sector.
His constant dedicated to his artistic research, which he carries out alongside the demanding work of graphic design, has allowed Voltolina to develop a particularly innovative approach to the projects, distinguishable for the cultural contents they convey.

During his career, he has collaborated with various higher education institutes: at the Fine Arts Academy of Brera, as assistant to Ugo La Pietre, he taught a course in brand design, and on invitation by Paola Di Bello, he was a visiting professor at the Fine Arts Academy Carrara in Bergamo.

Between 1995 and 1996, in collaboration with Eva Marisaldi, he participated in a project at the ex-psychiatric hospital Paolo Pini di Milano, financed by the CEE, instituting an educational laboratory for psychiatric patients.
